On Wednesday, AMI was proud to host U.S. Senator Angus King and Judith Pryor, First Vice President and Vice Chair of the Export-Import Bank. Joined by their staffers, Senator King and Vice Chair Pryor met with Auburn Manufacturing, Inc. CEO Kathie Leonard and other members of the AMI team, learning more about the manufacturing business and discussing potential threats to the textile industry.
The high-profile attendees toured AMI’s plant in Auburn, Maine gaining insight into the manufacturing process for high-performance textiles. Media members were also present, filming the tour and interviewing Kathie about her vision for the future.
Following this week’s visit, Leonard looks forward to building on her relationship with Senator King’s office, Vice Chair Pryor’s staff, and policymakers from Maine to Washington, D.C., as Auburn Manufacturing, Inc., continues to promote free and fair trade. When business and government work together, Maine manufacturers like AMI can reach unprecedented heights.
