Mechanic Falls, Maine — (September 30, 2007) — Auburn Manufacturing, Inc. (AMI) has announced the appointment of Ernest C. (Skip) Mattox, III as Vice President of Manufacturing. He will be responsible for all manufacturing operations at the company.

“Skip is coming on board at a great time,” commented AMI President and CEO Kathie Leonard. “His experience in making and selling heat-resistant fabrics combined with AMI’s manufacturing capabilities and 28 years of marketing success will accelerate our growth as a dominant player in the niche industrial markets we serve. Our success to date is proof that U.S. manufacturers can succeed, but we have to work smarter to stay ahead of the commodity curve. Skip is helping us do that.”

Prior to joining AMI, Skip was CEO of Heptagon Industries, Inc., where he was responsible for the sales and distribution of high temperature products. He previously held the positions of VP, Sales and VP, Manufacturing at Newtex Industries, Inc. and before that was Midwest Sales Manager for Uniglass Industries, Inc.

Skip holds an MBA from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He received his BA from Washington and Lee University in Virginia. He currently resides in Auburn, ME.

Auburn Manufacturing, Inc., since its founding in 1979, has become a leading developer, manufacturer and marketer of textile products for hundreds of extreme-temperature industrial applications throughout the world, including welding protection, industrial insulation, safety apparel, gaskets and seals, and other MROP (maintenance, repair, operations and production) applications.
