Press Releases : NIA’s ‘State of the Industry 2003 Forum’ Leonard and Other Industry Leaders
Posted on 9/13/2007

Mechanic Falls, Maine— Kathie Leonard, CEO and President of Auburn Manufacturing Inc. (AMI), joined other industry leaders in the National Insulation Association’s recent “State of the Industry 2003 Forum” in Reston, VA.

An industry veteran and former co-chair of NIA’s Foundation for Education, Training and Industry Advancement, Leonard participated in a day-long series of focused discussions on the critical role of insulation as an energy efficiency technology in industry — and the progress that NIA and its members have made in demonstrating the benefits of insulation to decision-makers, as well as the substantial changes that remain.

Among the many pressing questions addressed at the forum were:

  • What guidelines have been developed to help industry conserve energy — and how successful have they been?
  • Are there any energy conservation measures currently under consideration by Congress?
  • What is the role of insulation in a “green” vs. “non-green” building?
  • How can insulation industry managers work together to get companies to recognize the value of maintaining building and manufacturing insulation systems?

For a copy of forum proceedings, please contact the NIA: 703-683-4422.
